Free 4 Hour CLE Offered for Volunteers Willing to Assist Flood Victims (co-sponsored by Louisiana Appleseed)

A 4-hour free CLE on disaster related legal issues will be sponsored by Southern University Law Center, Southeast Louisiana Legal Services and Louisiana Appleseed for attorneys willing to volunteer to provide help to those affected by the recent floods.

The CLE will be held on Thursday, September 15 at 2:00 p.m. in Room 130 at Southern University Law Center (2 Roosevelt Steptoe Dr., Baton Rouge). Volunteer can also receive CLE credit by participating in the simulcast of the trainings at the Lafayette Bar Association (2607 Johnston St., Lafayette) and the Louisiana State Bar Association (601 St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans).

CLE Schedule:
2 – 3 p.m. – Landlord/Tenant Issues
3 – 4 p.m. – FEMA Assistance & Disaster Law
4 – 5 p.m. – Successions Issues & Title Clearing
5 – 6 p.m. – SBA Loan Process & Tax Law

The program will be recorded for volunteers who wish to later learn about the disaster legal issues. Unfortunately, CLE credit will not be available with the recorded sessions.
