BATON ROUGE June 11, 2019  – Summer is here! On Saturday, June 8, 2019, Louisiana Appleseed joined several other nonprofit organizations at the Inaugural Health and Wellness Fair presented by Healthy Blue on the campus of Cristo Rey Baton Rouge Franciscan High School in Baton Rouge. This free event was from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and focused on promoting health and wellness within the community. There were refreshments, performances, school supply giveaways, music, activities, and fun for the whole family.

“We at Louisiana Appleseed are excited about the opportunity to participate in Healthy Blue’s Inaugural Health and Wellness Fair. As a public interest nonprofit, it is vital to our mission that we are able to engage folks where they are,” explained Louisiana Appleseed Director of Community Engagement, Gerren Sias.

Louisiana Appleseed is a statewide nonprofit organization that partners with volunteers and community organizations in order solve systematic issues at their root cause. Our goal is to advance social justice by effecting change at the policy, or systemic, level. Louisiana Appleseed’s work focuses on improving access to justice, opportunity, and education.
